
Ein Schloss ohne Kapelle war im 16. Jahrhundert undenkbar. Daher ließ Georg I. kurz nach Erwerb des Hofgutes eine Kapelle in den rechten Schlossflügel einbauen. Die landgräfliche Familie verfolgte den Gottesdienst erhöht von der Empore aus, während die Höflinge auf Holzbänken im Innenraum saßen.
Heute kann man die Kapelle bei Führungen besichtigen. Sie ist auch ein beliebter Trauort Kranichsteins.

Chapel
A palace without a chapel was unthinkable in the 16th century. For this reason, George I had one built into the right wing of the palace shortly after acquiring the estate. The landgrave’s family attended the service from the raised gallery, while the courtiers sat on wooden benches below.
Today, the chapel can be visited on guided tours. It is also a popular venue for weddings at Kranichstein.
